Today's the Day...

In June, I traveled by car from Ohio to California with my friend Jann, as she moved back to California. On my return to Ohio, I flew back. I had this full-size can of hair styling mousse, that felt almost empty. It was headed for the trash, when Jann assured me I could put it in my suitcase, just not my carry on bag. So I threw it back into the suitcase, thinking it may have a few more spurts left.
Today is November 29 - almost 6 months later- and I'm still using this same can of mousse, at least every other day. This morning when I pressed the button, I received a bit more than usual. This prompted me to stop and muse at this can. All these months, every time I pressed the button on this can, I thought, "This is it. Today is the day it's going to run out." But every day I received exactly the amount I needed, and today I received even more!
This immediately reminded me of how The Lord is with His blessings, grace and mercy towards us. We think we have nothing left, that there can't possibly be anything left for us ... that we have done everything possible... used every last bit of energy, resources, emotion (fill in the blank), yet, The Lord continues to give us that 'one little spurt,' just what we need for that day.
There were years, and days, during our 15-years of Christmas Caroling, that felt like there was nothing left to give. Where was the money coming from to make the Gifts to Give? Would there be enough for gas to fill the gas guzzling van's tank to reach all our caroling destinations? Was I going to have enough energy and stamina to cheerfully and lovingly make gifts with the boys, drive them around from stop to stop, day after day... and have fun 'with them' making memories?
Just like that seemingly bottomless bottle of mousse, The Lord always provided what was needed that year to complete that year's Christmas Caroling Gig's tasks... blessing not only our lives, but those of our caroling recipients as well.
Like everyone else, our Christmas Seasons were busy ones also. I encourage you to intentionally use some of your time and resources to reach out to those around you, in your local neighborhoods and communities, to let folks know that The Lord loves them, as it will be a blessing to the givers and receivers alike.
Because our 15-years of Christmas Caroling Adventures has blessed us with 'memories that last a lifetime,' I want this for others also.
Please share our stories of Christmas Caroling Adventures with your friends and loved ones (https://www.amazon.com/Lavine-Boys-Christmas-Caroling-Adventures/dp/1735204404/) If you have access to some kids, prayerfully consider beginning your own 'Little Christmas Caroling Gig' this Christmas Season (https://www.thelavineboyschristmascarolingadventures.com/caroling-kits)
How wonderful it would be to see a 'Christmas Caroling Revival' sweep our land! Spreading the good news of the birth and hope of Our Lord Jesus Christ... and 'making memories that last a lifetime' along the way.
